You are examined; Dr. Destandau studies the examinations that you have had and interprets them according to the clinical signs presented in order to better establish the indication for surgery.
If an intervention is necessary in your case, he explains what this consists of as well as the post-operative follow-up and the convalescence programme.
Dr. Destandau then plans your hospitalisation (reservation of a room in a hospital). Except for cases of emergency the waiting period is usually 10 to 15 days after this consultation, depending on his availability and that of the hospital.
This waiting period gives time for reflection and also for a consultation to be arranged with the clinic’s Anaesthetist. This consultation is obligatory and must take place at least 48 hours before the intervention.
Hospitalisation and operation
Hospitalisation occurs the day before the operation or the same day.
In the majority of cases the patient leaves the hospital the day following the operation.
